As an American I still feel enormous pride in what Israel did 43 years ago today. As the linked essay states, Israel — the bulwark of democracy in the Middle East — proved the war against Islamic fascism was indeed winnable.

[…] In the decade preceding Entebbe, Palestinian terrorists were responsible for at least 50 skyjackings. Exasperated Western nations took measured comfort in the fact that finally, a resilient nation with backbone, took resolute military action against those waging war on civilization. Following the rescue, the skyjacking scourge declined measurably, and the Baader-Meinhof terror cell responsible for carrying out the hijacking jointly with the PFLP became largely ineffectual thanks to the liquidation of two of its central members as well as post-raid resignations and defections. Most importantly, Israel demonstrated to the world in spectacular fashion that the war on terror was indeed winnable.

The Battle of Kosovo

Why Eastern Europeans are much more reluctant to accept Muslim migrants than their Western counterparts can be traced back to circumstances surrounding a pivotal battle, that of Kosovo, which took place on June 15, 1389, exactly 630 years ago today.  It pitted Muslim invaders against Eastern European defenders—the ancestors of those many Eastern Europeans today who are resistant to Islam.

Because the jihad is as old as Islam, it has been championed by diverse peoples throughout the centuries (Arabs in the Middle East, Moors (Berbers and Africans) in Spain and Western Europe, etc.). Islam’s successful entry into Eastern Europe was spearheaded by the Turks, specifically that tribe centered in westernmost Anatolia (or Asia Minor) and thus nearest to Europe, the Ottoman Turks, so-named after their founder Osman Bey. As he lay dying in 1323, his parting words to his son and successor, Orhan, were for him “to propagate Islam by your arms.” […]

May 29, 1453

The 2,206-year-old Roman empire died on this date:

Today in history, on May 29, 1453, the sword of Islam conquered Constantinople. Of all Islam’s conquests of Christian territory, this was by far the most symbolically significant. For not only was Constantinople a living and direct extension of the old Roman Empire and current capital of the Christian Roman Empire (or Byzantium), but its cyclopean walls had prevented Islam from entering Europe through its eastern doorway for the previous seven centuries, beginning with the First Arab Siege of Constantinople (674-678). Indeed, as Byzantine historian John Julius Norwich puts it, “Had the Saracens captured Constantinople in the seventh century rather than the fifteenth, all Europe—and America—might be Muslim today.” […]

The Armenian Genocide: Islam’s greatest slaughter of Christians….

Today, April 24, marks the “Great Crime,” that is, the genocide of Christians—mostly Armenians but also Assyrians—that took place under the Islamic Ottoman Empire throughout World War I. Then, the Turks liquidated approximately 1.5 million Armenians and 300,000 Assyrians.

Most objective American historians who have studied the question unequivocally agree that it was a deliberate, calculated genocide:

More than one million Armenians perished as the result of execution, starvation, disease, the harsh environment, and physical abuse. A people who lived in eastern Turkey for nearly 3,000 years [more than double the amount of time the invading Islamic Turks had occupied Anatolia, now known as “Turkey”] lost its homeland and was profoundly decimated in the first large-scale genocide of the twentieth century. At the beginning of 1915 there were some two million Armenians within Turkey; today there are fewer than 60,000…. Despite the vast amount of evidence that points to the historical reality of the Armenian Genocide, eyewitness accounts, official archives, photographic evidence, the reports of diplomats, and the testimony of survivors, denial of the Armenian Genocide by successive regimes in Turkey has gone on from 1915 to the present.[…]

There were massive death marches.

There were concentration camps. There was starvation. There was torture. There were firing squads.

There were executions. There were beheadings. There were crucifixions. There was the extermination of millions of Armenian men, women, and children spanning from 1914-15, and carried out by Turkey …

Armenian1Armenian4Armenian9

And it was religion/ideology-driven genocide that, to this day, has its own set of deniers including Turkey and Turkey’s government today who insist it did not happen because Muslims are not capable of such things. Hitler allegedly claimed he could get away with his Jewish Holocaust twenty years later in WWII because Turkey had gotten away with theirs in WWI…

(WSJ) – Pope Francis described the 1915 mass killings of Armenians by Turks as the “first genocide of the 20th century” on Sunday, touching off a diplomatic furor with Turkey and entering into a tense historical debate with wider implications for the Vatican’s relations with Islam.

Turkey, which has long rejected the term genocide to describe the killings, swiftly called its ambassador to the Vatican back to Ankara for consultations after the pope’s remarks. Turkey’s foreign ministry also summoned the Vatican’s envoy to Ankara, informing him that the government was “disappointed and saddened” by the pontiff’s comments, according to Turkey’s state-run Anadolu news agency.

The pope, speaking at a mass in St. Peter’s Basilica to mark the 100 years since the killings, addressed the massacres in the context of the contemporary persecution of Christians in the Muslim world. That subject has become an increasingly pressing theme for Pope Francis—who, before becoming pontiff, had close ties to Buenos Aires’s overwhelmingly Christian Armenian community.

Even as he has continued to call for better relations between Catholicism and Islam, the pope has urged Muslim leaders to denounce the actions of extremists and pushed Christians of different churches to stand together in the face of anti-Christian violence.

The pope’s statement is a boost for Armenia’s decadeslong campaign to define the killings as genocide, as well as a setback for Turkey’s efforts to fend off the accusations of systematic killing.

Armenians—the vast majority of whom are Christians—say that as many as 1.5 million Armenians were systematically killed during World War I in today’s eastern Turkey, which was then part of the Ottoman Empire.

A number of countries officially recognize the killings as genocide. But Turkey contests Armenian claims about the scale of losses; it argues that hundreds of thousands actually died in warfare and famine, and that many Turks were also killed by Armenians. Turkey argues that the question of genocide should be left to historians rather than politicians.

Pope Francis said Sunday that “it is necessary, and indeed a duty,” to “recall the centenary of that tragic event, that immense and senseless slaughter whose cruelty your forbears had to endure…Concealing or denying evil is like allowing a wound to keep bleeding without bandaging it.”

Turkey accused the Vatican of using history for political aims: by singling out Armenians and not mentioning all lost lives in Anatolia during World War I. Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said the comments were “not fitting of the Pope.”

“The Pope’s declaration, divorced from historical and legal facts, is unacceptable. Religious posts are not positions to stoke hatred and grudges on baseless claims,” Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said in a message from his official Twitter account.

The Armenian Genocide and my grandmother’s secret

Decades ago when I was very young, my grandmother, Mary Kupelian, told me a haunting story I’ve wondered about ever since.

As I sat in the kitchen of her cozy little home in Bethesda, Maryland, eating her delicious homemade bread and talking about a frequent topic – the Armenian Genocide, which she and my dad (as a little boy) had barely survived – she shared with me the following enigma.

A people killed twice

It is the forgotten 20th-century catastrophe. In 1915, under cover of world war, Ottoman Turks wiped out a third of the Armenian population. To this day, Turkey denies blame – and, behind it, Britain stands firm among a dwindling band of nations that fail to acknowledge the massacres were genocide

Refugee translator denied visa despite helping US forces fears being sent to die at hands of Taliban … Perhaps he and his family should fly to Mexico and then come across our Southwestern border without Visas, just like everyone else does.

As FBN’s Stuart Varney pointed out at the top, this administration is allowing into our country thousands upon thousands of unchecked and unvetted “refugees”. Yet, here is a man and his family who now face torture and death at the hands of the evil and barbaric enemy he helped our troops fight against, saving their lives through his loyalty and translations being thrown under the bus by this radical Islamic-appeasing administration.

Obama Continues to Dabble in Syria…

syria

I’m not a huge fan of deploying our hog-tied troops into this bullshit area where ISIS and al Qaeda in Syria are now battling each other, but damn it, 300 (total) troops on very strict ROEs are nothing more than potential recruitment fodder for either terror group should our people be captured…

(FOX News) – … Obama announced Monday that he had approved the deployment of an additional 250 U.S. troops to Syria to fight the ISIS terror group.

Obama made the announcement during a speech in Hannover, Germany at the conclusion of a week-long trip where ISIS was a focus of his meetings with world leaders in Saudi Arabia and Great Britain, as well as Germany.

Obama, touting recent gains against ISIS, said the added troops would help “to keep up this momentum.” The move will bring the number of personnel to roughly 300, up from about 50 special operations forces currently there.

“They’re not going to be leading the fight on the ground, but they will be essential in providing the training and assisting local forces,” Obama said.

Obama revealed his decision a week after Defense Secretary Ash Carter announced that more than 200 U.S. troops soon will be headed to Iraq, where local forces are also battling ISIS militants who control areas of that country…

Deception and Deflection: The Western Left Throws ‘Feminism’ Under the “Refugee” Bus

Mark Steyn is absolutely brilliant, as is Nigel Farage who makes his own rebuttal to the two liberals in the extended video versions of this debate.

“Newborn feminists” (the left always believes they own the language) are obsessed with ‘sex’ and it’s why they are leading the charge against this cultural invasion by “migrants”?

Conservatives have always been the true ‘feminists’. We have pointed out the anti-woman leanings of the pop culture that sees girls and women as so much entertainment and publicity fodder for low-end cultural morals. And while we disagree with the objectification and sexualizing of females in our society we have never viewed women/females as less than any other person in our society. As a matter of fact, our anti-abortion stance is based in the belief that women are actually superior in their ability to have life created and nurtured in their wombs.

However, today’s liberal/leftist “feminists” are showing their true colors. It has never really been about the individual rights of women, but the ‘collective’ political power in harnessing this idea that only leftists/liberals are capable of defending women. Bullshit on so many levels. In these last nearly 16 years of our military involvement in Islamic based countries our military has seen and has tried very hard to bring rights and equality to females (AND young boys) in these backwater cultures that beat and rape and execute them at will for even the slightest imagined insult against their cultural religion.

But now we see the left actually chuckling and shrugging-off the dark ages of this culture being invited into their own socially modern societies where the women have now become acceptable ‘collateral damages’ in the name of ‘tolerance’ and political correctness. More bullshit. And as is stated, these Western government officials are diluting the rights of their own females by insisting they abide by the invaders’ cultural demands, and these attacks are somehow their own fault.

I recall when I was young watching TV shows where during a rape trial a woman’s attire (sultry or not, or even naked) or individual freedom to come and go whenever and wherever she pleased was defined as NOT reason for the defense to excuse the rapist’s crime against her. And now today’s liberal/left feminists shrug it off and, as is stated near the end, have basically sold out women in favor of appeasing these extremely antiquated cultures invading their countries. And make no mistakes, in all this huffy-puffy current LGBTXYZ activism and liberal outrage forcing wedding cake baking and hosting, and mixed bathroom attendance YOU’RE NEXT on this radical Islamic invasion’s radar. Yet, you refuse to see they have no intentions of assimilating to your modern society norms, and you have no intentions of expecting or insisting they do so. You are openly willing to throw your own into the fires as long as your own wretched, fascist, hypocritical and dictatorial ideology presumably survives.

There will come a reckoning, lefties…

Steyn’s closing statement on this current ‘migration’ invasion into the West is stunning. Listen to what he says about the ‘American poem’ nailed to the base of the Statue of Liberty. I totally agree…

And this: “Readers also rightly pointed out that the headline ‘Parents worried over school kids’ brutality’ was unfortunate. Using the word brutality to describe children, particularly of an identifiable cultural group, is problematic.”
