Well, Capri, we typically see and hear democrats talk like this when the tables have been turned and the stench gets stronger and stronger the closer you get to said democrats instead of their intended target.**
Roger L. Simon @ PJM: Democrats Are Headed for a World of (Deserved) Hurt
After years of non-stop virtue signaling as the party of “truth, justice and equality,” the Democrats are slowly, inexorably being revealed to be the reverse. They are being hoisted on the petard of their own moral narcissism. It has made them blind.
So convinced of their own righteousness were they that it allowed them to participate in, even instigate, the subversion of our justice system to the extent of lying to and deceiving a FISA court in the name of what they assumed was “good.” They did this in concert with people who claimed to be Republicans or “independents” working for that system in the supposedly noble cause of upending Donald Trump, before and after his election, but ended up being the deluded agents of government corruption the likes of which we have never seen in this country.
It comes down to something as crude as this: Trump’s a bad guy, therefore I’m a good guy and can do or say anything I wish to destroy Trump. This is moral narcissism taken to a pathological extreme.
Practically with each passing day, as more and more largely arbitrary redactions are pried away from documents that were deliberately hidden from public view in the first place by endless stonewalling, the venality of their true motivations — and of their cohort’s actions — becomes more evident.
The ramifications of that unmasking (note the word) will be more extensive than expected and will reach into every aspect of our culture, even to the last lines of liberal/progressive defense — the media, entertainment and education. The results won’t go in a straight line — they rarely do. And many will remain true believers, no matter what. That’s what true believers do. Their defenders will also become increasingly shrill as the wagons continue to circle. But the Democrats — and I strongly suspect many of them are starting to realize it (hence that shrillness) — are headed for a world of hurt…
On the one week anniversary of #MemoDay let’s look back at what we learned:
The accusation that Russians interfered in the 2016 election was a lie cooked up by Hillary Clinton and supported by the FBI and the DOJ. pic.twitter.com/578rwlpacK

The deeper they dig the bigger the shit pile of steaming smelly Clinton Crime Family Russia collusion and cover-up with weaponized feds gets.

Sen. Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, had extensive contact last year with a lobbyist for a Russian oligarch who was offering Warner access to dossier author Christopher Steele. More from @edhenry reporting https://t.co/PwJoFvwkj6 pic.twitter.com/HUMyoyhxZ1

With respect, when he "disclosed" isn't the question. It's why Warner first went unilateral and demanded no paper trail. (That strike you as straight up?) And why Steele's way of reaching Congress was via Russian oligarch lobbyist, rather than, say, calling Senate switchboard. https://t.co/WL88RIwTw2

Washington Times: Marco Rubio’s defense of Mark Warner is meaningless
Catherine Herridge @ FOX News: Another longtime Comey aide leaving FBI
It’s unclear whether the retirement was long-planned or in any way precipitated by recent events. The FBI said he was finishing 33 years of service.
After Comey became director in September 2013, Kortan helped facilitate regular on-the-record briefings with beat reporters, a departure from previous directors.
Kortan also was front and center during the Hillary Clinton email investigation, and especially in July 2016 — coordinating media coverage and handing out copies of Comey’s public statement recommending against criminal charges in the investigation into mishandling of classified information. Kortan more recently surfaced in text messages released between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.
While those texts have drawn attention for their anti-Trump sentiments, Kortan also seemed to surface in a message warning about the contents of 302s, which were FBI interview summaries from the Clinton email case, that weren’t given to Congress up-front. In the September 2016 text, Strzok wrote that “there are VERY inflammatory things in the 302s we didn’t turn over to [Congress]…that are going to come out in FOIA and absolutely inflames Congress. I’m sure Jim and Trisha and Dave and Mike are all considering how things like that play out as they talk amongst themselves.”
“Mike” would appear to be a reference to Kortan…

Prof. William A. Jacobson @ Legal Insurrection: Confirmed: Clinton operative Sidney Blumenthal helped spread Russia collusion fever before the election – The Clintons created a media and law enforcement echo chamber of Russia collusion.
How my “old friend” Sid Blumenthal hooked me up with Cody Shearer who slipped me some stuff that I then passed on to Christopher Steele. This is supposed to be exculpating? https://t.co/UJCXfihMZr

Why would Sheaer try to foist this fiction on the State Department instead of sending it straight to the FBI?
Indeed, why didn’t Hillary Clinton just pass it to the FBI herself? After all, she paid for it.
All of this walking in circles and crabwise movement indicates deception — if you have nothing to hide, you just do things in the most direct and simple way possible.
Here everyone is attempting to feed these documents to flunkies in the State Department to get passed to the FBI.
It’s almost as if Hillary Clinton, and Shearer, and Blumenthal, and Steele, and Fusion, are all trying to hide their hands from the FBI here.
It’s a regular fucking incestual orgy with these people!

Glenn Reynolds @ Instapundit grabs a bit and shares from the WSJ payside:
Democrats have spent weeks making the case that the Russia-Trump probes need to continue, piling on demands for more witnesses and documents. So desperate is the left to keep this Trump cudgel to hand that Senate Intelligence Committee Democrats have moved toward neo- McCarthyism.
If that sounds hyperbolic, consider an email recently disclosed by the Young Turks Network, a progressive YouTube news channel. It’s dated Dec. 19, 2017, and its author is April Doss, senior counsel for the committee’s Democrats, including Vice Chairman Mark Warner.
Ms. Doss was writing to Robert Barnes, an attorney for Charles C. Johnson, the controversial and unpleasant alt-right blogger. Mr. Johnson’s interactions with Julian Assange inspired some in the media to speculate last year that Mr. Johnson had served as a back channel between the Trump campaign and WikiLeaks. There’s still no proof, but in July the Intelligence Committee sent a letter requesting Mr. Johnson submit to them any documents, emails, texts or the like related to “any communications with Russian persons” in a variety of 2016 circumstances, including those related to “the 2016 U.S. Presidential Campaign.”
Mr. Barnes seems to have wanted clarification from Ms. Doss about the definition of “Russian persons.” And this would make sense, since it’s a loose term. Russians in Russia? Russians in America? Russians with business in the country? Russians who lobby the U.S. and might be affected by the election—though not in contact with campaigns?
Ms. Doss’s response was more sweeping than any of these: “The provision we discussed narrowing was clarifying that the phrase ‘Russian persons’ in [the committee letter] may be read to refer to persons that Mr. Johnson knows or has reason to believe are of Russian nationality or descent” (emphasis added).
Well, to be fair, it was the Democrats who imprisoned people in concentration camps simply for being of Japanese descent, so at least they’re consistent.
Rachel L. Brand, the No. 3 official at the Justice Department, plans to step down after nine months on the job as the country’s top law enforcement agency has been under attack by President Trump, according to two people briefed on her decision.
Ms. Brand’s profile had risen in part because she is next in the line of succession behind the deputy attorney general, Rod J. Rosenstein, who is overseeing the special counsel’s inquiry into Russian influence in the 2016 election. Mr. Trump, who has called the investigation a witch hunt, has considered firing Mr. Rosenstein.
Such a move could have put her in charge of the special counsel and, by extension, left her in the cross hairs of the president.
Ms. Brand, who became the associate attorney general in May 2017, is leaving for a job as general counsel in the private sector. She has held politically appointed positions at the Justice Department over the past three presidential administrations…
Somehow that little nutshell resume mention the MSM likes to stick in there like some justifying knife is no longer an ‘enhancement’ but proof of an overstayed “Deep State” holdover. Suck-it.

Andrew McCarthy @ NRO: Explosive Revelation of Obama Administration Illegal Surveillance of Americans
MICHAEL WALSH @ AG: Tear Down That Wall . . . Of Silence
As the Obama wall of silence begins to crumble, the FBI’s reputation is befouled by its own rash actions, a politicized Justice Department stands revealed as, well, politicized, and the Democrats furiously spin the facts outlined in the Nunes Memo and subsequent revelations, there’s only one overarching question left to ask: what made them think they could get away with it?
And by “them,” I mean the lot of them—the corrupt, partisan officials, the political operatives masquerading as selfless public servants, the intelligence community pooh-bahs who betrayed their trusts, the preening “straight arrows,” the talking heads, the Washington bureau chiefs, the White House correspondents, every man jack of whom did his level best to create, run, and disseminate a disinformation operation designed to do one thing: destroy the unwanted and unwelcome presidency of Donald J. Trump.
From the moment it dawned on Hillary Clinton, late on election night, that she had managed to blow a fixed fight, and that there would, therefore, be hell to pay, the Democrat-Deep State-Media Complex suddenly had to conceal their own malfeasance by doing what the Left does best—projecting its own sins onto others…
