Follow-up to this previous post.
Since the show first aired in November, “Tucker Carlson Tonight” has given the network a historic ratings boost. At least 3.7 million watched its debut.
“In less than two months, Tucker has taken cable news by storm with his spirited interviews and consistently strong performance,” Rupert Murdoch, the executive Chairman of 21st Century Fox and Fox News, said in a statement Thursday. “Viewers have overwhelmingly responded to the show and we look forward to him being a part of Fox News’ powerful primetime line-up.”
Talk now is who will replace Tucker at 7:00pm? Would love to see Laura Ingraham or Kimberly Guilfoyle at 7:00. And I would love to see Greta come back, but it looks as if she might have other plans: Greta Van Susteren Hints at Return to TV: ‘I Have Received a Tempting Offer’
I am seeing people wondering about Megyn Kelly’s start date at NBC, and why is it so far out from her quit date at FNC. When an anchor leaves a network they typically are required to not be in front of the new job cameras for a certain amount of time during the transition. I think they can work behind the scenes, but not be seen on air in an official capacity. Greta Van Susteren had to do this after leaving CNN for FNC years ago.
Meanwhile, it seems not everybody at NBC is excited about the network’s new hire: Matt Lauer kept in dark about NBC’s Megyn Kelly hire
Maybe Matt was hoping for Katie’s recent return to be permanent? Megyn might just throw shade on the once NBC princess.
Martha McCallum will take over Tucker Carlson’s current slot at 7pm, in a show called “The First 100 Days,” about, well, the first 100 days of Trump’s administration. Not sure what happens after day 100.
