American consumers watching the entertainment industry’s post-election molten mental meltdown tells us they’ve decided at this point they’ve made enough money, to paraphrase somebody near and dear to their socialistic “Progressive” stone-hearts.
Last night VP-Elect Mike Pence and his wife went to the showing of the much acclaimed Broadway hit play/musical “Hamilton”.
A little background on this latest “The Great White Way” fad:
The casting call:

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The hottest show on Broadway has won praise for its groundbreaking casting of black and Latino performers, but now, “Hamilton” may have run afoul of the strict New York City Human Rights Law.
As CBS2’s Tony Aiello reported, the controversy was sparked by a casting notice posted by the producers of “Hamilton,” which specifically seeks “non-white” performers.
One critic said “Hamilton” takes a story that “valorizes dead white guys” and replaces it with black, Latino and multi-ethnic performers playing America’s founding fathers.
But as the blockbuster musical looks to expand to other cities, the casting notice with its call for “non-white” performers looks problematic to civil rights attorney Randolph McLaughlin.
“What if they put an ad out that said, ‘Whites only need apply?’” said McLaughlin, of the Newman Ferrara Law Firm. “Why, African-Americans, Latinos, Asians would be outraged.”
McLaughlin believes the ad violates the New York City Human Rights Law, which makes it unlawful “for an employer… because of the actual written or perceived… race of any person, to discriminate.”
“You cannot advertise showing that you have a preference for one racial group over another,” McLaughlin said. “As an artistic question – sure, he can cast whomever he wants to cast, but he has to give every actor eligible for the role an opportunity to try.”
That is also the policy of Actors Equity, the Broadway union, which says, “…producers agree that auditions for all productions… will be conducted in such a manner as to provide full and fair consideration to actors of all ethnicities.”
Oh my, huh? And don’t let the fact that this blatantly racially biased production is allowed to appear historical when, in fact, it is an out-and-out appropriation of actual American history and twisting it.
Back to Mr. and Mrs. Mike Pence at the Broadway theater. Mind you, the Pences did not waltz in with “V” for victory sign fingers above stretched arms above their heads yelling, “Yeah! We won! Suck it, bitches!!!” No, they came in peacefully, the Secret Service guards obvious, but did so quietly. At first, upon recognizing him, some in the audience shouted to him, “Yeah, Mike!” and some welcoming applause could be heard … but was quickly drowned out by a resounding “Boooooo!” and other nasty remarks bubbling from the over-stacked liberal crowd. And this commenced throughout the actual stage production.
Instead of leaving the Pences stayed for the show. However, as they were leaving, the cast still on stage from the post-show bows, the actor Brandon V Dixon chided after VP-Elect Pence to wait. He then began lecturing Pence from under the spotlights of the stage in front of the full house with the lights up. He pulled a prepared cue card from his costume trousers and read his admonishments from it to the silent VP-Elect. There is no way the theater did not know in advance the Pences were coming. Security was obviously in-play. And so, it is obvious the slamming of Pence was pre-planned, probably to the point of the audience participation…

Dixon singled out and lectured— bullied Mike Pence in front of the audience:
“We, sir — we — are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights,” Dixon said. “We truly hope that this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and to work on behalf all of us.”
When word of this, from beginning to political epilogue, got out via social media of those attending the show, social media lit up, a lot regarding the disrespect shown to Mike Pence in the production’s ambushing of him after the play had ended.
POTUS-Elect Donald Trump was rightfully outraged and demanded the theater and “Hamilton” production extend an apology to Mike Pence. Instead, of course. The libs/left then began gasping about Trump threatening their First Amendment rights to free speech. Yeah right.
Here’s the thing these self-righteous progs are ignoring … A very big swath of “diverse” Americans voted for Trump/Pence. As a matter of mathematical fact, Trump had good percentage increases in ‘minority’ votes on all levels. They actually heard and listened to the Trump/Pence policy ideas and did not find them against their ‘American values’.
All this self-righteous liberal selective and opportunistic paranoia cannot erase that. Perhaps Pence did find the play ‘inspirational’ but that was pretty much obliterated by the ill-placed arrogant epilogue that would have been better delivered in an editorial column that I am certain the NYTimes would have been more than happy to print for Mr. Dixon. If the liberals in this country want a real and serious ‘conversation’ they need to understand the actual grown-up definition of that action involves inviting and welcoming an opposing view to be stated and explained and defended without weapons-grade tactical use and maneuvering of words/terms (racists, bigots, homophobes, Islamophobes, Nazis, sexists, etc.) to obscure and silence/shutdown half the “conversation”. It is their side that screams for “conversation” but seeks to present their opinions and their false narratives, premises and faked talking-points as the whole body of the “conversation”. It seriously is what has been happening, especially these last 8 years, and the American voters saw that. If these people fail to grasp that concept they will continue to be viewed as petulant spoiled brats throwing a fit in the middle of the aisle of the store of free thought and speech. That’s plainly and simply the cold hard reality here, folks.
As to Trump’s demand for an apology to Pence, that’s not squashing anyone’s free speech. It’s calling for personal responsibility for it. What happened last night was uncalled for. Know what would’ve hit the American people on a better note this morning after the stage and theater stunt? If Mr. Dixon, especially after obviously being aware of the reception the Pences received upon entering the pre-show theater, to have sent down an invitation to Mr. and Mrs. Pence from the stage to please accept his welcome to come backstage and meet and sit with him and the cast for a bit. But I guess that was above his paygrade. Better to be a circus barker than a diplomat.
While Dixon and his back-slapping stage comrades think they’ve just gotten some great free advertising for their show over this public hissy-fit they should be aware that anyone pumped to buy a ticket over it is going to be their own wealthy liberal elitist class who’ve probably already seen the thing anyway. The rest of us struggling with stagnate wages and household budgets while cost of living prices and healthcare/insurance costs have risen surely are not swayed by his ideological pontificating and public trashing of Pence in the direction of forking over hundreds of dollars to make the NYC trip and purchase the overpriced tickets to his history-warped show. No, we are the butt of disgusting jokes and wishes of extermination by the little liberal minions living on social media, and by self-important, ugly-minded actors…
For Dixon the theater was his church, the stage his pulpit, and he was the SJW Evangelical pontificating to the alleged sinner Pence. Never mind the tickets Pence and his wife bought were in an area of the theater that added up to a few thousand dollars, and I’m not even taking into consideration what they had to pay for the Secret Service tickets.
Comment on the farce shaming of Pence at “Hamilton”, per Instapundit:
Also: “The cast are not scared of Pence. If they were, they wouldn’t insult him. It takes no bravery for you to mock someone that all your social peers think is terrible. It takes no bravery for you to claim the moral high ground over someone you and the media paint as a backwards reject from the 1950s or earlier. This was craven; people who think it took courage to speak out against someone the media wants us to hate need to readjust their definitions of courage.”
“It’s funny because the left right now is all ‘I don’t feel safe!’, but they are the once blocking the roads, turning theatre nights into verbal attacks, and rushing the speakers on college campuses.”
This comes from the limo-lib prog elitists “completely out-of-touch with real America” disease.
FYI, lib/left entertainers: Hamilton was a proponent for the Electoral College and for some very strong and strict immigration policies. But then again the liberal entertainment industry is expert at ‘changing’ history to suit their narrative and premise.
Dixon claims it was a ‘conversation’. All I heard was a smug dictator wannabe who didn’t want to hear any rebuttal. While the entertainment industry on all levels provides many jobs behind the pampered celebrity class the community’s wonks need to understand that it really is an industry that the bulk of society can live without, and we have proven that with Hollywood’s major box office slides, poor TV ratings, and lack of interest in what is being presented as “music”. Yes, life could be a bit more boring without entertainment, but “we are not entertained” much by any of it or its self-imposed political activism (as if we are the sheep they must herd) these last couple decades. The entertainment industry has exposed itself as producers of poor products, bad advertising, and very bad business habits of berating half its would be consumers.
Seriously, the American people have had enough of the limo-lib elitism shit that has looked down their collective nose at us and scolded and dictated to us long enough. Last night’s display was a burst of an infected boil on this industry.
Well, alls I can say is, “We didn’t start the fire…”
