Here’s an idea, Hollyweird, since you’re all out of fresh ideas out there on the left coast…
After yet another stinker opening weekend at the box office for your movies, and continuing lackluster TV ratings, and a-hole personal behavior and idiotic ramblings of your overpaid peers, how about making fun of each other!! Huh? Am I right?? Imagine the audience at home and their pleasant surprise at that target rich fodder.
Amid the predictably lame political hackery and fuckery of the limo-lib Hollywood elites there were some very badassery satisfying end results of the 2016 Emmy Awards last night.
Monstrously Huge Congrats:
Actress in a Drama Series: The fantastic Tatiana Maslany, “Orphan Black” … Find and binge-watch this series (Amazon Prime has some of it, and look to BBCAmerica.com as well) from Season 1 on. Her multiple clone roles acting is amazing. The plots are darkly humorous with so many twists and turns you’d better take a dose of Dramamine before watching. It really gets jaw-dropping and mind-blowing those times when Tatiana plays one of the clones pretending to be one of the other sister clones.
Supporting Actress in a Drama: The Indomitable Maggie Smith, “Downton Abbey” … I will miss the damn funny Dowager more than anything now that the series has ended. “Downton Abbey” is also binge-watch worthy (again, seasons available on Amazon Prime).
Drama Series: “Game of Thrones” (HBO) … BOOM!
Writing for a Drama Series: David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, “Game of Thrones” for “Battle of the Bastards” (S06E09) … The most friggin’ awesomest episode evah in TV history! The battle scene in this episode is not only being compared to a “Lord of The Rings” battle, but perhaps even slightly better. “Game of Thrones” broke the previous Emmy record…
The HBO fantasy drama triumphed in three categories at Sunday’s ceremony, including outstanding drama series.
The show’s total number of awards now stands at 38, which means it has beaten Frasier’s previous record of 37.
I’ve never read the books, and not sure I could do so as each volume is about the size of a NYC phone book. However, this series is absolutely far better than most anything Hollywood is putting out for the box office.
Here are the pertinent scene(s) in focus from this winning episode…
And the TV industry continues its completely consuming jealousy and contempt for the highly successful and highly rated “The Walking Dead” that is now the firm granite cornerstone for the cable network AMC. Oh, they get the make-up and tecnical awards here and there. But are just completely taken for granted as a serious TV series that could, in all reality, be a movie franchise:
