Weekend Getaway: Surf’s Up!

My last vacation shot from the deck of our condo last Saturday: Sunrise at high tide after a night of storms Topsail Island, NC (8/20/16). I’ve been going to Topsail since I was a toddler. My surfing days are well over for awhile now. And I have developed a healthy unhealthy paranoia about sharks, and the waters off the Topsail Island coast are a well-traveled lane for sharks due to the Gulf stream and the sea turtle traffic from the island.

What’s straight across the ocean when you’re at the beach

Meanwhile, when we got back from vaycay my son-in-law talked my Dad into deciding to finally empty the folks’ cement pond for a much needed cleaning and painting (That’s not dirt on the floor surfaces. It’s the cement peeping through the worn paint)…

Thankfully nothing disgusting was found on the floor of the deep end…
