And Again: Shooter(s) Ambush Baton Rouge Police – DEVELOPING

Three Baton Rouge, LA. police offers have been killed and three more have been wounded in an apparent ambush on the officers after a set-up 911 call.

One alleged shooter is dead at the scene, and police continue to search for at least two others…

(FOX News) – The shooting — which happened just before 9 a.m., less than 1 mile from police headquarters — comes amid spiraling tensions across the city, Louisiana’s capital — and the country — between the black community and police.

Initially, Baton Rouge Police Sgt. Don Coppola said he did not know the extent of the injuries or the precise number of officers injured.

He said that authorities believe the “scene is contained,” meaning that a shooter was unlikely on the loose.

A witness told WBRZ-TV, a man was dressed in black with his face covered was shooting indiscriminately when he walked out between a convenience store and car wash across from Hammond Air Plaza, according to Fox radio affiliate WJBO.

Multiple police units were stationed at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, where the officers were taken. A police officer with a long gun was blocking the parking lot at the emergency room.

Officers and deputies from the Baton Rouge Police Department and East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office were involved, according to Casey Rayborn Hicks, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office.

Fox8 Live reported that a witness described hearing at least 25 to 30 gunshots in the area of the convenience store.

“I walked out into the street to see what was going on, there was a man lying in the street,” the witness told the station. ”I assume he was dead because he wasn’t moving.”

The witness said the shooting started before police arrived.

“This was not a come at police shooting,” the witness said. “There were men out here shooting at each other before police ever got here.”

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development reported the area was closed to traffic.

Note to the MSM: The correct word is “wounded”, not ‘injured’.

‘Injured’ is when you break your arm falling out of a tree, or banged-up crashing your car or motorcycle.

“Wounded” is when you are deliberately and intentionally aggressively ‘hurt’ by somebody who intended to kill you.
