Merry Christmas: Newsweek Attacks Christians in Their Latest “Bible” Cover Story

newsweek bible

A war on Christianity continues, and escalates with floundering Newsweek when Kurt Eichenwald penned an article that hit just two days before Christmas titled: “The Bible: So Misunderstood It’s a Sin”. I will leave the fact-checking to those more educated in The Bible to deal with Newsweek’s weak display of secular arrogance. My thoughts are those of the continual trashing and squelching of Christianity and the appeasing of Islam on a very uneven playing field with these types in the Western media.

Now, Kurt Eichenwald manages to somewhat highlight the nutjobs (such as The Westboro Baptist Church bunch) that do their hating and bidding in God’s name as some sort of reflection on the whole of today’s believers and practicing Christian sects. Yet, the bulk of the read is a vast generalization of basically pinning hundreds and thousands of years old history on today’s Christians. Oh, and the writer cannot spin this rapid fire without targeting Sarah Palin, of course. His bottom line is Christian convictions and values based on The Bible’s deemed fictional Scriptures that fly against the growing liberal/leftist tide of secular issues, such as homosexuality being normal and accepted/embraced, is the sin. The article is nothing more than an individual who has personal issues with a holy book that he can choose to believe and follow, but instead chooses to try to rip away from those who, for generations, have lived The Word (and no, not Nancy Pelosi). It is the M.O. today of the left/liberals. Just as it was over a century ago when communism slithered into Russia and China, to abolish religion on the backs and souls of Christians.

As leftists are infamous for doing, Kurt Eichenwald selects and pushes his conclusion in just the snippet of …

And embrace what modern Bible experts know to be the true sections of the New Testament. Jesus said, Don’t judge. He condemned those who pointed out the faults of others while ignoring their own. And he proclaimed, “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”
That’s a good place to start.

… but fails to recognize Jesus told those who asked for His forgiveness and healing to “Go, and sin no more…”. No, according to the self-righteous writer, the only sin is that of those who have moral convictions and live by them.

It begs—- No, demands to be asked of Kurt Eichenwald the publication that employs him, if they would/could approach the world’s Muslims/Islamists and their Koran in such a disgusting and assaulting manner? I believe we all know the answer to that.

Perhaps he would like to tear through the Koran, and the number of contradicting ‘holy’ books that followed its first writing, and select those passages that bolster his views on “the religion of peace” we are being expected to coexist with in a one-sided tolerance. Perhaps he would address the honor killings of Muslim females (and the general treatment of females), the lopsided tenants of Sharia Law that does not rule equally, the Muslims around the world brutally chopping down those who do not believe the way the radical Islamists do, the beheadings of innocent people/children in the ongoing territorial grab, cruelty, racism, sexism, culture of rape, and the intolerance and executing of homosexuals. No, instead he feels he is somehow morally equating, and quite possibly excusing, these Islamic actions and practices by outlining those brutalities of fledgling Christians thousands of years ago. Forget what is going on now is not the product of Christians in the world, unless they are on the receiving end of the knife/sword or flesh-eating fire. No, the most important goal of the Newsweek writer was to crap all over those who would recognize and celebrate one of Christianity’s most holy days. It was his holiday gift to himself via his self-righteous pontificating to the ignorant and sinful masses who simply do not believe the way he does.

As a matter of fact, no religion, Christian or Jewish, and apparently now Buddhist…

… is safe from the religious road-plowing the Western left is doing to pave the way for the totalitarian fascism that is Islam in the world. You see, the Buddhists and Hindus have been fighting for religious and cultural survival against the violent and forceful actions of Muslims in the far reaches of the world longer than we have (since 9/11).

Kurt Eichenwald wants you sinful, ignorant, silly Christians to know…

The Bible is a very human book. It was written, assembled, copied and translated by people. That explains the flaws, the contradictions, and the theological disagreements in its pages…

I repeat, I eagerly await Kurt Eichenwald’s/Newsweek’s long-winded analysis of the Koran … that, by the way, was written, assembled, copied, and translated by … people. If he/they have any unbiased balls between their spindly little two left feet, at all. As I stated above, all the sinful brutalities, slaughters, injustices, slavery, and social intolerances plaguing the world today are being done by a “religion” in the name of a “holy book” written by a “prophet” and his “people” Kurt Eichenwald and Newsweek undoubtedly would find their own self-indignation, Ivory Tower necks at the end of a blood-stained knife over were they to dare speak one such word against.

They wave their Bibles at passersby, screaming their condemnations of homosexuals. They fall on their knees, worshipping at the base of granite monuments to the Ten Commandments while demanding prayer in school. They appeal to God to save America from their political opponents, mostly Democrats. They gather in football stadiums by the thousands to pray for the country’s salvation.

Hello? Newsweek/Kurt Eichenwald??!!??

But, as usual, they are safe because the odds of a Christian fatwas being issued against them by a Christian sect leader or followers is extremely slim to none. You see, what Kurt Eichenwald/Newsweek/the left are trying to rip apart are the personal beliefs and convictions of Christians who rarely, if ever, act out against non-believers. In stark reality, these know-it-all types are pretty much just thought police second guessing God’s/Christ’s Word as it is believed and practiced. Granted, a true Christian knows not to judge others at risk of being judged himself. And that Jesus Christ’s core teaching was ‘love’ for all by all. As we have been instructed, love the sinner – hate the sin. But those briskly pointing out that fact seem to be lacking in practicing what they presume to preach to the choir.

Is there an actual ‘war on Christianity’? Obviously. But there is more so an attack on the First Amendment (personal free speech … and thought … and freedom OF religion) for a certain segment of the population.

It is hard not to see the evidence in the deadly actions of the Islamic foot-soldiers, and the propaganda being spun for them by their bed-fellow liberals/leftists in the western MSM who believe, at their own core, the crocodile will eat them last.
